Xirokampos is a small picturesque fishing village with a nice sandy beach, which in front of it, there is a large bay with the small islets Glaronisia.  The area is verdant with olive, almond trees, cypresses and crystal clear waters. At Xerokampos there is a prehistoric fortress (the Castle of Lepida), that was built on the ruins of an ancient citadel, dating from 2500 B.C. During the early Christian period a large basilica church was built and today there is the White Chapel of Panagia. The church of Panagia Kavadaina with its unique story and its one of a kind icon, is also located in the area. Kalimnos is really near if you are into a day trip by boat.
